隐私政策

Our primary purpose for which we collect your personal and/or sensitive information is to administer, conduct and report on our research activities. We mostly collect your personal and/or sensitive information directly from you in the course of your participation in our research.

We may also from time to time receive personal and/or sensitive information about you from third parties for the purpose of administering, conducting and reporting on research activities on behalf of that organisation.

If you have participated in our social research, we will only re-contact you if you were informed of this prior to collecting your personal information or if we have valid reasons to believe a genuine research concern warrants re-contact.

Data protection + data security

In some research projects, we use unique links assigned to participants. These links may allow access to a participant’s response, including a partly completed response. Participants should keep their links private and should not share them with anyone, or copy or paste them into AI tools, search engines, shared documents, messaging apps or other third-party online services, as those services may store information entered into them.

开放性 

You have the right to request access to any personal information we hold about you. This includes confirmation as to whether or not your personal data is being processed, where and for what purpose. You can request this information by contacting the Privacy Officer at the details listed below. Where we hold information that you are entitled to access, we will respond to your request in a reasonable time and endeavour to provide you with a suitable range of options for access. You have the right to request for your identifiable research information to be destroyed or de-identified.

Our website + platforms

This information may include (but is not limited to):

数据处置 

The Social Research Centre will destroy or de-identify your personal information as soon as reasonably practicable once it is no longer required to complete the social research for which it was collected. We or our service providers may, in certain circumstances, be required by law to retain your personal information after our research has been completed. In this case your personal information will continue to be protected in accordance with this Policy.

This policy has been effective from the original date of publication October 2007. This policy is reviewed periodically. Although we intend to observe this RIPP at all times, it is not legally binding on the Social Research Centre but intended to guide and communicate our standard practices. From time to time, we may regard it as necessary or desirable to act outside the policy. The Social Research Centre may do so, subject only to any other applicable contractual rights you have and any statutory rights you have under the Privacy Act or other applicable legislation.
