Impact

If you have any queries or can’t find your personal survey invitation, please call the survey helpline on 1800 799 841.

Your thoughts of your government-subsidised training experience in 2023 – even if you did not complete your course – are important.

The survey only takes about 8 to 10 minutes.

Your feedback will be used to improve the quality of training for current and future students.

There are 20 prizes worth $500 or $1,000 to be won. The earlier you complete the survey, the better your chances of winning.

FAQs

What is the survey about?

The Victoria Skills Authority (VSA) and the Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry and Regions (DJSIR) send the Student Satisfaction Survey to all Victorian students who completed or left early from government-funded vocational education and training (VET) in 2023.

The survey asks a range of questions, such as “Were you satisfied with your training?” and “Would you recommend your training provider?”

Why should I participate?

We would like to know what you thought of your vocational education and training. Your answers will improve the quality of VET in Victoria, which means that Victorian students can achieve good outcomes after training, such as getting a new or better job.

Completing this survey is voluntary. But the more students who respond the better as it helps to understand how Victoria’s VET system is performing.

How did you get my contact details?

Your training organisation is required to pass on your contact details in accordance with the Victorian VET Student Statistical Collection Guidelines. This information is sent to the Social Research Centre (SRC), who is conducting this survey on our behalf.

Contacting you for this project is consistent with the Victorian Government VET Student Enrolment Privacy Notice provided to you when you enrolled in your training.  Contact details provided to the SRC will only be used to administer the survey.

What if I don’t think I did the training?

That’s OK – you may have undertaken similar training in 2023 to that shown on the email or letter that was sent to you. If so, you can complete the survey and be entered into the prize draws. If you want to make a complaint about your training or training organisation, contact the TAFE and Training Line on 131 823 or email: tafe.courseline@djsir.vic.gov.au

What if I don’t recognise the training provider?

That’s OK – sometimes training organisations change names, use different names for parts of their business, or they organise the training to be conducted by another training organisation. You can still complete the survey and be entered into the prize draws.

I only completed one or two subjects. Do you still want me to respond?

Yes. Your response to the survey is important, even if the course was only of a short duration (e.g., a one-day course provided by your workplace) or you only completed part of your course. All responses to the survey will be used to improve VET in Victoria and you will be entered into the prize draws.

Who is VSA?

The VSA is an Administrative Office of DJSIR established by the Victorian Government in July 2021. The VSA aims to support Victorian students to undertake vocational education that will help them find a job and help Victorian employers find workers with the skills they need.
