The New Education and Training Model (NETM) is being developed in partnership with industry, universities, vocational education and training (VET) providers and the NSW Government.
It delivers small-scale packages of learning, or micro-credentials, that allow people to build knowledge, skills and experience in a particular subject area aligned to employer needs. NETM micro-credentials aim to develop the skills needed for jobs in industries like advanced manufacturing, pharmaceutical manufacturing, freight and logistics, aerospace and defence, and agribusiness.
Surveys are being conducted with students and employers to evaluate the effectiveness of NETM micro-credentials.
Western Parkland City Authority (WPCA)
Information collected through the surveys will be used to evaluate the effectiveness of the NETM micro-credential program. Findings will inform the design of future NETM micro-credentials to make sure the training is relevant to the needs of workers and that courses are filling skill gaps identified by industry.
More information on the NETM program is available on the WPCA website.
We are conducting a range of surveys to assess the NETM program.
Learner Survey – this is a short 5 minute online survey conducted with students who recently completed a NETM micro-credential. The Learner Survey asks students if they were satisfied with the quality of the training and whether the skills and knowledge learned will be applied in the student’s work.
Supervisor Survey – we are contacting workplace managers and supervisors of NETM micro-credential students for a quick 2 minute online survey. The Supervisor Survey asks whether the training is useful in the workplace and seeks feedback on how courses could be improved to meet employer needs.
Employer Survey – to ensure micro-credential offerings are addressing skills shortages and industry needs we are contacting companies who have had staff complete a NETM micro-credential. The Employer Survey takes about 5 minutes to complete online and provides a valuable opportunity for business leaders to shape the design of future micro-credentials.
