Bruce is an exceptional leader, with significant public and private sector experience, who thrives on implementing large-scale, cross-cutting transformational change and solving the problems of tomorrow, today. Bruce has a diverse background and is a respected leader known for driving and delivering outcomes through navigating complexity and managing stakeholders, whilst building capabilities and creating collaborative cultures.
Bruce is passionate about improving the prosperity, health and safety of citizens. Bruce has devoted over 26 years of his career to this as both a senior public service leader (former Deputy Secretary) and guiding and advising the highest levels of Government as a partner of two global firms (McKinsey & Co, and Ernst & Young (EY)).
Bruce believes in the purpose and stewardship of the Australian Public Service (APS) to support Government and strengthen the safety and prosperity of our Nation. His commitment to strengthening the capability of Public Service leaders is demonstrated by him currently mentoring ~50 senior APS and international leaders.
Bruce sits on the board of the National Youth Science Forum, a not-for-profit organization that encourages young people to embrace their passion in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics disciplines.
Outside of work, Bruce enjoys spending time with his family and friends, all types of fishing and playing golf.
