Kristen Hilton and Co (KH&Co) is conducting an Independent Cultural Review into New South Wales Police Force (the Review). The Review is a comprehensive initiative aimed at addressing and improving the workplace culture within the NSW Police Force (NSWPF). The Review is looking at a wide range of behaviours and experiences that shape workplace culture at NSWPF, and the impacts it has on employees.
As part of the Review, the Social Research Centre (SRC) has been commissioned to conduct a workforce survey of the NSW Police Force. This survey will ask current NSWPF staff and former employees who have left NSWPF in the last five years (from 2020 to 2025) about their experiences of working at NSWPF, including what they most value about working at NSWPF and what they find challenging.
This research is being conducted for the NSW Police Force by KH&Co, who have commissioned the Social Research Centre to manage the survey component of the review.
The Review aims to provide recommendations for creating a more respectful and supportive work environment within the NSWPF. This initiative is part of a broader effort to foster positive workplace cultures across various public service sectors in NSW, ensuring that all employees feel valued and supported in their roles.
As part of the Review, the SRC is managing the data collection for a workforce survey of current and former NSW Police staff, which will be open from 11 August 2025 – 05 September 2025. The SRC is also managing the submission of written responses to key questions, which are able to be submitted via the Independent Cultural Review into New South Wales Police Force website, https://www.nswpolicereview.com.au/.

Current employees of NSWPF, or former employees that left NSWPF in the last five years from 2020 to 2025.
The key benefit is that current and former NSWPF staff can share their experiences in a safe and confidential manner and know that their story is contributing to a process aimed at making a difference to NSWPF culture.
The Review’s report and recommendations aim to improve the everyday experience for those working in NSWPF and in turn, the broader community that it serves.
Survey
Current NSWPF employees will be sent a link via email to complete a voluntary online survey (which will require around 30 minutes to complete). Former NSWPF employees who exited the organisation within the last five years from 2020-2025 will be able to access the survey via the Review website. The survey contains questions to allow us to collect de-identified demographic data, as well as to gain an understanding of employees experiences of culture at NSWPF.
The online survey must be completed in one sitting, and will be open from 11 August 2025 to 05 September 2025.
Written submissions
You can make a written submission to the Review by using an online webform managed by the Social Research Centre. The written submission is accessed via a link on the Review website.
All written submissions must be received by close of business on 30 September 2025.
You can access the participant information sheet for the Review here.
