Social Research Centre

David Spicer

Director

Program Evaluation and Qualitative Research

David joined the Social Research Centre in 2024 and has over 24 years’ experience in the design and implementation of social research for a broad range of public sector organisations. He has conducted research and evaluation projects for both small, specialist consultancies and large multi-national agencies.

David’s area of expertise lies in enabling voices from seldom-heard communities on sometimes sensitive topics.  Over the years, this has included engaging people incarcerated in prisons, irregular humanitarian migrants, people with disabilities, culturally and linguistically diverse Australians and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

He is a methodological dualist who is equally at home designing large-scale community surveys and moderating focus groups, in-depth interviews and ethnographic studies.
