The Transitions Study aims to help The Smith Family better support young people as they move into adulthood by understanding the different pathways young people might take during the senior years of school and beyond, and what might influence those pathways.
This research is being conducted for The Smith Family by the Social Research Centre.
The information collected will help The Smith Family and others such as policymakers, employers and educators, to provide better services and support for young people.
The Social Research Centre conducted the first wave of the study in 2021, with subsequent waves in 2022, 2023 and 2024. The 2025 survey will invite those continuing from earlier surveys to complete the next wave.

What will the survey ask?
The survey is completely voluntary, however your participation is important as it will help The Smith Family learn more about the unique experiences young people might have. This will help them provide better support for young people like yourself. Your participation in the survey will not affect in any way the support you receive from The Smith Family, now or in the future.
How do I take part in the survey?
Eligible young people will be sent an email and/or SMS link to complete the survey online and may be called to complete the survey over the phone. If we don’t have your direct contact details, we will send the invitation to your primary carer and ask them to forward it to you.
How long will the survey take?
The survey will only take around 10-15 minutes to complete.
Will I be paid for my time?
All participants who complete the survey will receive a $30 eGift card.
