The NWC is a mandatory requirement for all approved child care providers under section 67FH of A New Tax System (Family Assistance) (Administration) Act 1999 (Family Assistance Administration Act) and is one of the conditions for continued provider approval under the family assistance law.
Dedicated preschools and kindergartens also play a significant role in children’s education, and their participation in the census is crucial to ensure accurate data is captured for the entire sector.
