It is an exclusive research panel of The Social Research Centre, an independent subsidiary of Australian National University.

It is also a sister research panel to Life in Australia™, providing members with even more options to participate in important social research.

Conversations in Australia™ is an agile, ready-to-engage community of Australians motivated to share their voices, opinions and perspectives on important social issues.

How to participate

How to be part of our research community

Joining Conversations in Australia™ is FREE – the only prerequisite is you must be 18 years or over and be an Australian resident. 

Participants in our research are paid for their participation. As a member of the Conversations in Australia™ community you will be offered opportunities to participate in meaningful research on topics such as community wellbeing, health, education, employment, current affairs and many other topics. 

All research is confidential, voluntary and adheres to the Australian Privacy Principles.

Conversations in Australia™ for your research

The Social Research Centre hosts Conversations in Australia™, a dedicated community of research participants who contribute to our social research projects on a regular basis. The community brings together more than 2,000 Australians from across the country and from all walks of life, ensuring our researchers are able to purposively select the right participants for our projects. Members are given the opportunity to express interest in research opportunities and, based on their eligibility, are invited to contribute to, discuss, explore, and design research solutions. 
Participants have been successfully recruited from the community for countless projects including qualitative deep-dives, survey development and testing, interviews, focus groups and online community research. Our members are experienced with the research process and trust our researchers to create a welcoming, inclusive, and safe space to participate in research.
